We host various servers for different purposes. Quick selection guide for selecting the right server:

• To run computational analysis, use bix1.uef.fi , intron.uef.fi or exon.uef.fi.
• To use software with graphical user interfaces, use exon.uef.fi.
• To access servers outside of UEF firewall, use codon.uef.fi.

• Description: Virtual computing servers in UEF Hyper-V.
• Bix1:

IP: 10.130.128.13 CentOS 7 Generation 2 512GB RAM 42 CPU total cores

• Exon:

IP: 10.130.0.16 CentOS 7 Generation 2 400 GB RAM 42 CPU total cores

• Intron:

IP: 10.130.0.17 CentOS 6 Generation 2 400 GB RAM 36 CPU total cores

• Access: Using SSH or Remote Desktop Connection within UEF firewall.

• Description: Remote desktop computer for running tools with graphical user interfaces.
• Warning: This server is not meant for running resource demanding analyses, do not run software that consumes multiple (>10) computing cores.
• Speficications: CentOS 7, 42 computing cores, 400 GB of memory.
• Access: Using SSH or Remote Desktop Connection within UEF firewall.

• Description: SSH Gateway to University of Eastern Finland intranet. From codon.uef.fi server it is possible to connect to exon.uef.fi and bix.uef.fi. Codon server is also connected to the bio-fs1.uef.fi fileserver.

Git-based version control system. Two separate installations, one accessible only within UEF firewall, one also externally.

Access: gitlab.uef.fi (within UEF firewall), bioinformatics.uef.fi/gitlab (external access).
